What We Do

We complement the existing contribution and efforts made by many other organisations and campaigns in solidarity with the dire living conditions and experiences of fellow migrants and people Seeking Sanctuary in the UK.

We campaign for and stand in solidarity with those affected by the Hostile Environment. Specifically, though not exclusively, we challenge Immigration Reporting and Detention.

We view reporting as a surveillance and harassing tool used by the Home Office on people Seeking Sanctuary. Reporting is where migrants have to attend appointments at government buildings simply because of their migration status. For more information on reporting, click here.

Detention is an abhorrent practice deliberately created to terrorise people and that it should be abolished. This is where migrants are held against their will because of migrating. Detention occurs in multiple institutions including detention centres, army barracks, hotels/hostels and through tagging.

All forms of detention limit people’s freedom and damage their mental health. The UK is the only European country that has indefinite detention; this is where migrants do not know how long they will be detained for. For more information on detention, click here.

We view these practices as inhumane, part of the systems of subjugation designed to perpetuate racism and colonialism and run for profit first and foremost, with businesses profiting from detention. The practices control people who are displaced and Seeking Sanctuary, simply for migration. They are practises that abuse, traumatise and discriminate against people, especially targeting non-white bodies from ex-colonies.

We campaign for the abolition of immigration detention. We take action that raises ours and others’ voices – a Voice of the Voiceless.

We create a space of solidarity for victims of the Hostile Environment and provide different means of practical support to those in Immigration Detention.
